So I recently was contacted by a former clients sister, Courtney, who was hoping to get some family photos done of her and her wee man!

I knew it was going to be a beautiful session as nothing is better then wee ones stealing the lime light! And it was just that, a beautiful day, a beautiful family and beautiful images were captured.

I was so happy to meet this little guy (mom too!) and have since been asked to capture some fun moments at his first birthday party! YAY! I love me some birthday party pics!

Okay, yes, I'm biased. These people I know. These people are good friends. But BOY were they lots of fun. And BOY did they bring their game.

I had such a hoot. Kelly was hitting every shot like she was on an episode of Americas Next Top Model. Seriously. Jon, well, yah, he's cute and he brought his game too. But together, they brought such life to the shoot. We went rollerblading, had a picnic, we did just about everything short of eating icecream! Shoot, we should have eaten some icecream.

Nevertheless, these guys were awesome. We had so much fun, and gosh, I see some love in their eyes. And I was so lucky to capture it!

THANK YOU Kelly and Jon! Can't wait for the big day!

When I met Corrine, I was actually photographing one of her bestfriends sons birthday parties...she didn't know it yet, but I was going to be photographing her too!

She soon touched base with me, and I was ever so glad! She had a wee one too, and was excited to get some family photos done. Of course! And to boot, we would be doing it in Toronto! Ye-ha! I like different locations, I couldn't wait. That was, if I didn't end up in North Bay, and alas, I didn't:)

They were such a pleasure to work with, and were so warm and inviting. Lucky me.

Oh, did I mention, they are just a couple of scientists ;)

Okay, well, 6 if we include Roxy, their 'spirited' dog!

So when Katie contacted me, she originally wanted just pictures of her boys. I said no problemo! I told her though, that I might not be able to contain myself and that I may have to take a picture of mommy and daddy at some point too (sometimes, these candid moments of just 'being' there with your kids make for the BEST pictures!). So a few weeks went by and we touched base again. She had a favour to ask. "We're expecting and would like you to do the big reveal", and in Katie's words , I thought "Shut the front door"! I would LOVE TO! Because as we all know, nothing is really ever official, until it's graced us with it's presence on facebook:)

With saying this, we had fun. The boys romped around, Roxy got some good exercise in and mom and dad were just plain 'ol fun to work with.

I wish them all the very best, and was so very thankful to be apart of this special experience! THANK YOU!!

What a sweetheart this one:)

He sure was raring to go when I got there (and when I left a few hours later). But with saying this, he was the most well behaved newborn I've met to date! He just wanted to be aware, and present. Poor mom so badly wanted a sleeping newborn pose, but I loved his expressions and beautiful gaze, I wouldn't have changed it, that was him:)

And of course, the moment I left, he fell right asleep:)

I had such a great question today by a potential client, and I thought I could share this with all of my followers for their own knowledge!

The question asked was "Will you be able to give me the unedited images, I would love to have them?"

Why not, right?

Photography is really a work of art, isn't it. It is fine tuned to the artists eye, and delivered to his or her own level of standard. Because clients typically don't spend their time editing their own photos with such programs as Lightroom or Photoshop, they aren't aware of what really is involved. And that's why we have the pleasure of working with you, because you want something above and beyond the norm, something better then your SOOC (straight out of camera) images.

I probabley spend MORE time in post production editing, then I actually do shooting the images. But this is why you must value the process and the costs associated with any of the packages offered.

It's really a magic show people! Have a look:)

I like to see SPARK in peoples eyes, I like to see AMPLE colour, and if I can clear up any blemishes that have 'conveniently' popped up the night before a photoshoot, I will:)

I hope I've educated you in the understanding and process of post production!

Aww...this lil gal stole my heart right away! I just knew she wasn't going to give me any guff. Yes, I said guff. She just went with the flow, and I was able to capture some amazing moments:)

And as per, mom and dad were yet again so very amazing:) As if you remember, I just did their maternity shoot not all that long ago! How I just love working with that couple:)

What a beautiful day for some outdoor photos, we were lucky!

Kenzie and ‘BOB’ , oh yes, the dogs name is ‘BOB’, were in true form and such great troopers! We walked far and wide to find some nice spots and if we could have only gotten Kenzie out of her ‘play clothes’ (I think we managed a few shots, but money ‘was’ exchanged in the process ;)….

We had fun, and she was my little side kick. Kids are so very inquisitive as this tender age and I just love it. I think I lead her to believe that there were fairies and horses that lived in this grand forest, oh, and yes, that a Harry Potter train was to magically arrive…

Mom was such a good trooper too, it’s hard being persuasive you know!

Well, I will share with all of you that I have an exciting new position that I have taken on within my Human Services field. But with this, comes a large learning curve, and I needed to come home and UNWIND!

So tonight, instead of prepping for a new day, I decided to enjoy it with my sister and our kids. It was a beautiful night and quite frankly, I need to take lots of pictures of my 'own' family, they too will grow up and move on, and I will only have these fond memories to look back upon. I do cherish them. I know when I look at some images, for example, Rowan in the little make shift ditch, he's screaming there in excitment, I'll never forget his screech of joy, and I'm so glad I capture such images to prompt my memory when the days have come that he no longer does that.

How I love these boys...

Oh and how I love my outdoor shoots:) LOVE the elements:)

I also am shooting a really good friend from my past and her daughter and new pup this weekend! YAY OUTDOOR SESSIONS!

Mothers Day Mini (Hamilton, Ontario Portrait Photographer)

When Katrina and I were in talks with regards to a Mothers Day mini shoot, I thought how lovely of this family to get together to capture the beautiful moments between mother and daughter(s). However, I was completely wrong, when I had shown up at our location (Albion Falls) and to my surprise, no mother. I thought, oh dear, we’re missing a BIG component! The three sisters all laughed at me, and Katrina stated, ‘no, it’s FOR Mothers Day’…OHHHHHHHHHHH!

These girls were a thrill to work with. They giggled, and held one another’s hand when climbing, they wiped mud off one another’s shoes and everything was so innate. The group dynamics were beautiful, and that made for such a beautiful shoot.

Except when starting out. I had to encourage them to ‘pretend to like each other!’… They were all so coy…:)

I also came to some realizations:

Do NOT wear ballet flats to scale Albion
I am getting old, as the girls were very adventurous, and I was quite hesitant (I think we met half way:)
I really do love working in the elements, you really can’t beat mother natures beauty
